Privacy Policy

Globby is a geography quiz for iPhone. This page explains what the app collects, why, who it is shared with, and how you can delete it. It is written to match the App Privacy details shown on the App Store.
Who is responsible
Globby is developed and operated by Oleh Boichuk (the "developer", "we"). Contact: support@getglobby.app.
No sign-up, no email
Globby does not ask for an email address, phone number, or password. When you first open the app it generates a random player identifier on your device and stores it in your iCloud Keychain, so your progress follows you to a new iPhone signed in to the same Apple ID. That identifier is the account.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos, or health data. Country is what you pick in the app, not a GPS fix.
Ads
Players without Globby Pro see ads served by Google AdMob. iOS will ask once whether Globby may track you across other apps; if you allow it, Google may use the advertising identifier to personalise ads. If you decline, ads are non-personalised. Globby Pro removes ads entirely. Google's handling of ad data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Analytics
Usage analytics are processed by PostHog, hosted in the European Union (Frankfurt). Events are keyed to your player identifier, not to your name. We use them to see which features are used and where players get stuck.
Who else sees data
- Apple: purchases, push delivery, and, if you opt in, crash diagnostics.
- Google AdMob: ad serving as described above.
- PostHog (EU): analytics as described above.
- Hosting: our servers run on Railway and our database on MongoDB Atlas. They store data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes.
- Other players: your display name, avatar, country, level, rating, and duel results are visible to friends and opponents and on leaderboards. Your player identifier and any email you enter in feedback are never shown to other players.
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with data brokers.
How long we keep it
Account and gameplay data is kept while your account exists. Feedback and reports are kept as long as needed to act on them. Analytics events are retained by PostHog according to our project settings and are not tied to your name.
Deleting your account
Open Settings in the app and tap Delete account. This removes your account, profile, scores, streaks, mastery, friends, and leaderboard entries from our servers. It cannot be undone. Details are on the delete your account page. Purchases are managed by Apple and are unaffected; a Globby Pro subscription must be cancelled separately in your Apple ID settings.
Your rights
You can see your profile and stats in the app at any time, change your name, avatar, country, and language, and delete everything as described above. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or another region with data-protection rights, you can also ask us for a copy of your data or for erasure by writing to support@getglobby.app from the app's Send feedback screen (include your player ID, shown at the bottom of Settings) so we can find your account.
Children
Globby is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data travels over HTTPS. Your player identifier lives in your iCloud Keychain, which Apple encrypts. Servers are access-controlled and hold no payment details.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
